Notes:
- Claude Francois was born to French parents in Ismailia, Egypt and spent the first 17 years of his life there, acquiring dual nationality.
- Milky is actually a trio consisting of two Italian producers and vocalist Sabrina Elahl aus Kassel (who is sometimes known as Milky herself). She was born in Egypt to Egyptian and German parents.
- Stewart Copeland of The Police was born in Alexandria, Egypt but has always been a US citizen (his father was serving in Egypt as a CIA agent at the time of Stewart's birth). He was soon taken home to the USA before moving to Britain in his early 20s, forming The Police with two other Brits. Consequently, The Police have not been included in the Egyptian chart.
- Similarly, though Thomas Dolby was born in Cairo, his parents were British and his arrival there was purely due to the fact that his father was working as an archaeologist in the country, leaving soon after the birth!
- (Artemios) 'Demis' (Ventouris) Roussos was born in Alexandria, Egypt in 1946. His family hurridly left within a few years due to events around the Suez crisis, returning to their ancestral home; Greece.
